58% More Reach, Same Budget: How We Made Sticky Be Socks' Paid Search Honest and Efficient

Sticky Be was already advertising on Google, but its measurement was leaking and its catalog was barely legible to the algorithm. The work was not to spend more. It was to make the data honest, make the feed sing, and scale reach across two engines at once, the direct-to-consumer storefront and the growing wholesale business. We rebuilt the product feed, moved tracking server-side, structured the account around how people actually shop for grip socks, and let efficiency and reach, not budget, carry the growth. A studio favorite, found by more of the right people, for the same money.

Before you can scale a channel, you have to be able to trust it. We rebuilt Sticky Be's feed and tracking first, so every decision after that was made on real numbers, and the reach scaled because the foundation could finally hold it.

Before you can scale a channel, you have to be able to trust it. We rebuilt Sticky Be's feed and tracking first, so every decision after that was made on real numbers, and the reach scaled because the foundation could finally hold it.

The Challenge

Sticky Be Socks came to Atelier Commerce with Google Ads already running, but without the measurement integrity or feed quality the brand needed to scale with confidence, and with a second engine, wholesale, that paid media had to start serving alongside the consumer storefront.

Measurement you could not trust. Browser-side tracking alone was unreliable: cookie restrictions, ad blockers, and bot traffic were distorting conversions and ROAS. A tracking break in a peak period inflated reported results to levels that could not be used for honest year-over-year planning. Before anything could scale, the data had to be made true. A feed that hid the catalog. Product data passed raw from Shopify into Google. Color, pattern, gender, age group, and size attributes were inconsistent, sale prices and additional images were underused, and titles and descriptions were too thin to compete. The result was weak Shopping coverage across a catalog that should have been highly discoverable. One budget, two businesses. Sticky Be sells direct to consumers and wholesale through Shopify B2B to studios and retailers. Paid search had to support both engines without diluting either, and without simply spending more. A brand with real trust signals it was not leveraging. A 4.9 rating, a Google Top Quality Store badge, an Oprah's Favorite Things mention, and a genuine cause in the PINK Fund were all underused inside the advertising. The brief: make the data honest, rebuild the feed so the full catalog competes, structure the account to serve both D2C and wholesale, and scale reach on a flat budget.

The System

A paid search rebuild, from the feed and the tracking up.

Tracking made trustworthy with Littledata. We implemented Littledata for server-side tracking, sending accurate transaction and event data from Shopify into Google Analytics 4 and the ad platforms. This reduced the impact of cookie loss, ad blockers, and bot traffic, and it ended the measurement distortion. From that point, optimization ran on real business performance, and reporting could be trusted for both D2C and wholesale. Product feed rebuilt and enriched. Rather than passing raw Shopify data into Google, we normalized the catalog: consistent gender, color, pattern, age group, and size attributes, additional images, accurate sale pricing, and a clean taxonomy. We then enriched product detail and product highlights with AI-assisted content so titles and descriptions competed on relevance. The full catalog became legible to Shopping, not just the few products Google happened to understand. Merchant Center and trust signals put to work. We made the brand's real credibility do real work in the auction: the 4.9 rating, the Top Quality Store badge, accurate brand and store information, and promotions. These lift both paid and free listings, so visibility grew beyond paid clicks alone. Account restructured around intent and engine. Campaigns were organized by product group and shopper intent, with brand separated from acquisition. Brand Search runs lean and extremely efficient, capturing existing demand, while Performance Max and Shopping carry discovery and acquisition across the consumer catalog and the wholesale-relevant lines. Display remarketing keeps the brand present for warm audiences at a low cost per click. Audiences from GA4 and Klaviyo, used for targeting only. We fed GA4 and Klaviyo audience segments into the account purely for targeting and remarketing, sharper signals about who to reach and who to bring back. Klaviyo's role here is audience targeting, not lifecycle revenue; the email and SMS revenue engine is a separate workstream. Cause and seasonal campaigns, handled with care. Sticky Be supports the PINK Fund, and we ran the seasonal Be Brave breast cancer awareness Performance Max campaign to align the brand's mission with its advertising during the relevant window, measured honestly rather than over-claimed. Ongoing creative and copy testing. Search copy and Performance Max assets are tested continuously so click-through rate and relevance keep improving, the reason CTR held up and improved through the second half of the year even as reach scaled. One system, connected. The enriched feed sharpens Shopping and PMax, Littledata's server-side data feeds both reporting and platform optimization, GA4 and Klaviyo audiences focus the reach, and trust signals lift paid and free visibility together, all serving one D2C-plus-wholesale engine on a flat budget.
